\u2018Best Available Techniques\u2019<\/mark>), means the techniques that are the best available in preventing or minimizing emissions\u00a0and impacts on the environment.\u200b European Union requires member states to adopt the Best Available Techniques, such as plants, control and management\u00a0techniques are technically feasible and economically sustainable for each specific context, insuring low\u00a0levels of pollutant emissions, optimization of the consumption of raw materials, products, water and energy, with maximum\u00a0safety in accident prevention.\u200b
\nBREFS (BAT Reference documents),<\/mark> All plants must be implemented with systems and techniques, or individual parts of plants, that are listed in the\u00a0BAT Reference\u00a0documents\u00a0(BREFS)<\/mark>, that are updated by the European Commission, on average, every 10-15 years.<\/h4>\n

The Oxycombustion Flameless Technology has\u00a0been included in the BAT reference document for waste incineration.\u00a0\u200b
\nThe Oxycombustion technology, to date,\u00a0\u00a0represents the European benchmark for waste\u00a0thermal treatment: “The technology represents\u00a0an important technological evolution towards\u00a0the ‘zero emissions’ and ‘clean energy’ objectives\u00a0of waste management processes, generally\u00a0characterized by low propensity for innovation”.\u00a0\u200b<\/h4>\n

It must be remarked that:<\/h4>\n

\u2022 It\u2019s the\u00a0sole Italian technology\u00a0to be\u00a0included in the BREFS (2019);\u200b<\/h4>\n

\u2022 the qualification of BAT has been assigned\u00a0to\u00a0the entire Flameless Oxycombustion\u00a0process\u00a0and not just to parts of the plant or\u00a0individual components, as usually happens.<\/h4>\n
